Backend Engineer

What You’ll Do

As a Backend Engineer, you will be responsible for building and maintaining the backend infrastructure. You will work closely with the product and front-end teams to implement key features, integrate external APIs, and ensure our platform is scalable, secure, and optimized for the best user experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain backend systems: Design, develop, test, and deploy backend services, including database architecture, API development, and server-side logic.
• API Integration: Collaborate with third-party services and external APIs to enhance app functionality and ensure seamless data flow.
• Performance Optimization: Ensure the backend is scalable, secure, and optimized for performance.
• Collaboration: Work closely with front-end developers, designers, and product managers to create a cohesive and seamless product experience.
• Problem Solving: Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues as they arise.

What We’re Looking For

Must-have skills:

• Proven experience with backend development using Python or Golang.
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, event-based architecture and database technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL).
• Experience in designing scalable, distributed systems and managing server-side architecture.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a team environment.
• Strong communication skills, comfortable working remotely in a startup environment.

Nice-to-have skills (optional):

• Experience with large language models (LLMs).
• Experience with cloud platforms, particularly GCP, with AWS and Azure as secondary options.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and tools like Docker or Kubernetes.
• Experience with React Native.
• Knowledge of financial technologies or experience in the fintech industry is a plus.
